The online dating space is currently dominated by three major players: Match Group owners of: Match.com, OkCupid, PlentyOfFish Tinder, Spark Networks owners of Jdate.com, ChristianMingle.com among others. [1]

Combined these two behemoths have market cap of close to 3 billion dollars and this is ignoring the Jaiyuan group in China which dominates the Chinese market with a market cap of 214 million dollars.

Overall Online dating revenues in the U.S. alone is an over 2-billion-dollar industry and worldwide online dating is expected to grow over 10 billion dollars, up from the current six billion dollars’ today[2]

18% of all-American adults use online dating applications up from 15% in 2016 (See references) these numbers are expected to rise with the development of more user friendly and social dating applications as the usage rate among 18-24-year-olds continues to skyrocket.

Enough however about the overall industry and the revenues , one of the key facets on why we are pushing this project is due to the fact while these large revenues and wealth is generated by these applications all this wealth and newly generated income is centralized with the aforementioned behemoth companies who basically buy out any new competitors and continue to tighten their grip and homogenize an activity that should be organic and fun and SHOULD have the potential to provide financial as well as social and personal benefit to a larger swath of the potential non-user and user base.

Yes, you could buy stock in these behemoths as you would in any other company but with their large overhead, massive CEO and Upper management pay scales what is the real percentage of revenue that actually flows to the non-institutional owners? Less than 12%. [3]

We also believe there to be a lack of innovation on this space, with a larger pool of owner/investors who have the ability to provide direct input for ideas and innovations through the DGOD contract proposal system we believe we can also help remedy that problem as well.
